Lueder-Mahoney; friends forever




The Lueder Family and the Mahoney Family of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. were joined in the marriage of Harold Mahoney and Esther Lueder on April 9, 1913. Esther's brother Carl and sister Ruth, joined the family in California, along with Harold's brother Franklin (Benjamin or "Frank" as he was called). There, Carl and Franklin were associated with "Wrong Way" Corrigan and the building of Lindy's Spirit of Saint Louis in San Diego. The families continued to work together in various enterprises. Carl eventually becoming head of Pan Americans (PAA) new Asian division. Franklin helped originate the first commercial air line in California. Harold and Esther worked on building homes in the Glendale Hills, and along with their children, Ellen Jane M. and John Pembrook M.
