STARTING IN THE MID 1940'S, AND FOR ALMOST A DECADE, GRANDMOTHER WROTE DAILY NOTES IN A LARGE OLD LEATHER BOUND MAHONEY & COMPANY LEDGER. SHE WROTE ABOUT THE THINGS SHE DID THAT DAY, THE WEATHER, PROGRESS ON THE HOUSES GRANDFATHER WAS BUILDING, HER LUNCH DATES WITH FRIENDS, SHOPPING TRIPS AND THE COMINGS AND GOINGS OF FRIENDS AND RELATIVES AND OTHER UNREMARKABLE EVENTS.SHE ALSO RECORDS THE END OF WWII, THE DEATHS OF HER MOTHER AND MOTHER IN LAW, MY PARENTS
MARRIAGE IN MEXICO, AND, HAPPILY,
MY BIRTH!
